My story

I’m Shiloh, an 'awsome-sauce' 12 y.o. kid. I'm a diagnosed neurodivergent – a fancy word for autistic or "on the spectrum". I struggle every day with anxiety, stress and panic attacks. I suffered trauma and PTSD when I was only 7 and life has been an uphill battle ever since. I go through a lot; the doctors and therapists, medicines and treatments.

I try to cope with every single stressful day. Sometimes listening to music (Hamilton, Mother Mother & Cavetown my current faves) or playing the ‘imaginary game’ on my swing, I use these 'coping skills' to ease the mental anguish I go through.

I also discovered that drawing pictures helped to calm my thoughts, creating art from the many images, emotions and feelings I experience. There are so many other kids also dealing with autism, anxiety, panic, OCD, ADHD or PTSD. So I thought maybe sharing some of my drawings could help them too. So I decided to “take my shot” (sung in my best Lin-Manuel Miranda voice) with ARTbySHILOH.com. So here we are.
